FAQs

How are your tea towels printed?

Our designs are screen printed on 100% Russian linen tea towels.

All designs are created either digitally, or with old fashioned paint on paper. These designs are then transferred to a screen coated with a photosensitive emulsion. Upon exposure to UV light, the parts of the treated screen not covered by the design cure, and the emulsion where the design was placed is washed away. This leaves thousands of tiny holes for the ink to pass through. Organic, water-based ink is then pushed through the screen onto the tea towel with a squeegee. Once dry, it is heat-set to make it permanent, and the tea towel is ready!

What if I want something that is out of stock?

If a design you like is sold out, please contact me via the contact form on this website and I will let you know when it will be available.

How do I look after my tea towel?

Natural linen becomes softer and more absorbent with every wash, making it the best fabric for tea towels.

Wash before use in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not bleach. If you prefer to hand wash, do not scrub or wring out. Line dry, and iron with a hot iron on reverse.

Your tea towel has not been pre-washed, so some shrinkage is normal after the first wash.
